Design 1554 Moije Breeze

All of the older plans (designs 1-1700) for the designs of S&S are in storage at the Mystic Seaport Museum. Specifically these plans are stored in a purpose built archival building housing over 100,000 plans from a number of well known designers. The building is technologically advanced. For example in the event of a fire there are no sprinkler systems which might harm the plans. Instead the oxygen is evacuated from the plan storage room. Its open to the public and well worth a visit if you are in the area, especially if you are researching plans for your particular boat.

In any event, we generally have a very complete set of small scale study plans as well as other pertinent materials: photographs, magazine articles, specifications, technical files, etc for those plans that are in storage and as can be seen on this blog. For this particular boat we lack the small scale study plans. I have posted it here anyway as the images are quite nice and give a good impression of the boat. It shows a young couple and their friends out for a sail in a beautiful classic yacht, and much of the time isnt that what its all about?

The boat was built by Burmester of Germany and launched in 1961. She is designed to rate as a 7.5-meter cruiser/racer. She has accommodations for 2 in the main cabin plus a quarter berth aft. Construction is typical: white oak framing with mahogany planking and silicon bronze fasteners. Decks are of teak.

Okay perhaps the sheets in the water could be tidied up a bit.
