Design 1255 Pandora IV


This steel motorsailer was built by the Burger Boat Company of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The boat was model tank tested at the Stevens Institute. She was launched in 1957.

Here she is on the day of her launch. You can see its winter and a temporary shelter has been built over the cockpit. My guess is the boat has been set up for traversing the canal system.

Interestingly I believe the reference to "Pandora" is the installation of the one-way glass in the deck-house, for privacy.
